Iceland is a destination on the TOP Travel List this year! To make the most of this experience, you truly need to be in the hands of reliable, trustworthy and luxury minded guides.
WHERE TO STAY? In my opinion, it’s best to stay the first couple nights outside of the city of Reykjavik in the South Region of Iceland to experience the most beautiful landscapes and then end the vacation with a few nights centrally in the city. One thing to note…the hotels in Iceland do not have the 5 star service aspects we are accustomed to when traveling, therefore, for those who want top service a private home/villa should be the focus.

Where to Dine?
While staying the first couple of nights in the South Region of Iceland, you will need to mostly dine at the hotel or by private chef in the villa. During my time exploring the Golden Circle, I did enjoy stopping at Fridheimar Farm for lunch to dine inside a greenhouse of tomato plants. Ice cream at Efstidalur Dairy Farm is a MUST after a full day of hiking and exploring the Golden Circle.
My favorite dining choices in Reykjavik…
Dill Restaurant: 1st Icelandic Restaurant to earn a Michelin Star
Grillmarkadurinn and Fishmarkadurinn are equally a MUST try in this city. With ingredients purchased directly from the country’s farms and fishermen, the quality of the food is excellent.
While walking around the city a stop at Baejarins Beztu Pylsur for their Famous Hot Dog is something to check off the tourist list!
