Anguilla is often described as the Caribbean’s best-kept secret—and for good reason. Whether you're seeking the romantic seclusion of Cap Juluca, the intimate charm of Malliouhana, or the family-friendly expansiveness of Four Seasons, this island has something for every type of traveler. In this guide, Jet Set Getaways’ advisor, Jenna Canfora, shares her firsthand experiences, uncovering the best stays, dining, and activities that make Anguilla a must-visit destination.
How Do You Get to Anguilla?
We flew nonstop from Newark (EWR) to Saint Martin (SXM), where our journey to Anguilla began. After landing, we were greeted by our driver and taken to the nearby port for the boat transfer. You can opt for a shared transfer or, for a more VIP experience, a private transfer and boat ride. Either way, the ride is short—only 25 minutes across the turquoise waters—while sipping on cocktails, of course! Since Anguilla is a small island, you're at your destination within 10-15 minutes from the port, making it an easy and seamless arrival.
Why We Love Anguilla
Anguilla has no shortage of incredible luxury properties, each offering something unique. For couples, Cap Juluca, A Belmond Hotel is perfect for a romantic getaway with its beachfront vibe. If you’re looking for charm and stunning views, Malliouhana is a small boutique hotel that delivers just that—perched high on a cliff with jaw-dropping ocean views. And for families, friends, or multigenerational groups, Four Seasons Anguilla is a great pick, especially with its spacious 4- and 5-bedroom villas that offer the perfect combination of luxury and comfort.

Where We Stayed
I took some girlfriends along for a much-needed getaway, and we stayed at the Four Seasons Anguilla. The resort offers everything from ocean-view king rooms to five-bedroom villas, so it’s great for couples, small groups, and families.
The property is spread out, which meant we never had trouble finding a quiet spot to relax or a lively place to hang out. We loved the Half Shell Beach Bar on Barnes Bay—the vibe was laid-back, and the fish tacos hit the spot. The water here was a little rockier, but we still took a dip. Over on Meads Bay, the beach was bigger and calmer, making it a great spot for families.
And the spa? Absolutely dreamy—endless ocean views and total relaxation. There’s something really special about this property, and we couldn’t have picked a better place for our girls’ trip.
